pw Phillip Weitkamp
Senior Software Engineer at Shopware

Empowering developers,
shaping e-commerce.

I build self-service tools that save costs internally and give schools and universities the environments they need to teach e-commerce. My path here ran through seven years behind a butcher's counter, which turns out to be excellent training for engineering.

Core technologies and expertise

Building scalable e-commerce tooling with a stack I genuinely enjoy.

C# and .NET

Backend services and applications with C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core, built to run unattended.

Blazor web development

Interactive web interfaces with Blazor, plus responsive layouts in plain HTML and CSS.

Linux and infrastructure

Server administration, cluster setups, distributed systems and keeping things highly available.

E-commerce platforms

Deep expertise in Shopware 5 and 6: architecture, APIs, plugin development and customization.

Debugging and support

Expert-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem solving with customers on the line.

AI and automation

N8N workflows and AI assistants, including Wolfi, an internal bot that automates incident response.

Find a profession you love and you will never work a day in your life. The line that turned out to be literally true for me

For me that is not just a quote, it is my reality. I turned my interest in technology into a career, and every day I get to work on projects that genuinely excite me.

My path was not traditional. I started in food retail and made a complete career transition into software engineering at 27. That journey taught me it is never too late to find the work you are meant to do.

Now at Shopware I am building tools with real impact: saving costs internally while supporting schools and universities in training the next generation of e-commerce professionals.

Let's connect

I am always interested in talking to other developers.

I am not actively looking for new opportunities. I am genuinely happy where I am at Shopware, working on projects I care about with people I respect. But I am always interested in connecting with fellow developers, especially those working with C#, .NET and Blazor.

Whether you want to talk about technical challenges, share knowledge about e-commerce platforms, discuss career transitions into tech, or just think out loud about an engineering problem, I am here for it. The developer community is strongest when we learn from each other.

What I am interested in

Technical discussions C#, .NET, Blazor, Linux administration, cluster architecture
E-commerce technology The Shopware platform and scalable online retail solutions
Career transitions Especially if you are considering a move into software development
Knowledge sharing Talks, meetups, writing, open source contributions

One thing though: I am not interested in recruiter outreach for other positions. I like my current role and company, and I am focused on growing here.
